The law of attraction has been around for decades. It has gone by many different names such as positive thinking, power of your subconscious mind, etc. This law only came into the limelight after the movie The Secret was created by Rhonda Byrne.
The movie became a bestseller and millions of people all over the world have watched it and have become hooked on it.
Just like most things, there are people who will swear by the law of attraction and there will be naysayers who just say it’s all hogwash. Whatever the case may be, it is often noted that those who say that it works are often successful and happier in life than those who think it’s all a big scam.
This is a good indicator that the law indeed does work and those who say it doesn’t really mean that is hasn’t worked for them. This will allude to the fact that they tried it and saw no results.
Which brings us to the question… Why do some people see results and many don’t?
This is without a doubt the number one reason why they fail with the law of attraction. On the surface, it may seem easy to be a positive thinker and believe that whatever you want is coming your way.
However, most people have lived with limiting, self-defeating thoughts for years. This is a habit that is so ingrained in them that it requires Herculean effort to make the change.
They tell themselves that they’ll be positive and they visualize getting higher paychecks. Yet, when they go to the supermarket and see that the price of butter has gone up by 10 cents, they shake their heads and mutter that their salary will never be able to cope with these incessant price increases.
While this is just an example, it is a very real example of the thought processes that go on in most people. They’re positive one minute and negative the next without even realizing it.
You must be positive as often as you can. Throw out all thoughts of lack and negativity. Once you do that, the results will come.
Another very common mistake. People who’re desperate to make their dreams come true visualize and say affirmations over and over and obsess over it.
You can’t force the law of attraction. This ‘desperate’ attitude is actually a sign of doubt. You feel like it’s not going to happen for you and you compensate for it by doing it harder.
It doesn’t work that way. Visualize twice or thrice a day. Feel happy that it’s coming your way and let it go. That’s all you need to do.
Giving Up Too Soon
The law of attraction works in its own time. You can’t rush it and the mysterious forces at work have to align perfectly before you see your dreams materialize. It will happen if you stay the course.
Problems arise when people don’t see results fast enough. They get bitter and negative and the moment that happens, they block the flow of positive energy. Many throw in the towel and give up.
Before the seed has had time to germinate, they’ve yanked it out of the soil and tossed it to the curb. Give the law of attraction time to work. If whatever you visualized appeared 5 minutes after your visualization, you’d be so overwhelmed you wouldn’t know what to do.
Everything in its own good time and all things come to he who waits.
If you can avoid these 3 mistakes and approach the law of attraction with a positive and patient attitude, it will transform your life forever. It won’t be easy but it definitely is worth the effort.
